That’s because it is a great way to reduce reliance on government support, as people with disabilities will be able to live independently and contribute in their own way. The NDIS’s primary goal is to empower Participants of the Scheme with decision-making over their individual supports. This includes the choice of their own accommodation. The NDIS defines ‘Specialist Disability Accommodation’ (SDA) as purpose-built dwellings that comply with strict NDIS standards for accessible and functional design. What it Means to Be an Orthodontist? What it Means to Be an Orthodontist?

Orthodontics, or more specifically, orthodontia is a special field of dentistry that focuses on correcting teeth and bite issues. Langley orthodontists can help patients of all ages improve their smile and jaw alignment with orthodontic treatment.

What’s the difference between a dentist and an orthodontist?

Many people think that a dentist is an orthodontist if they need braces, but there is more to being an orthodontist than just straightening teeth. In this article, our team at langley orthodontics shares what it means to be an orthodontist and how they can help your family get the smile you deserve!

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children be seen by an orthodontist by the age of seven. This early screening can help detect and correct problems that may become more severe in the future. These include crowding of the teeth, extra space between the teeth, problems with the growth of the jaw, protruding teeth and bad bites. Often these problems can be corrected with early treatment, thus preventing the need for more invasive procedures in the future, such as extraction of permanent teeth or surgery.

If your child is a candidate for orthodontic treatment, our team at Smile Town Langley will perform an early evaluation and explain all of your options and what they can accomplish. We will also go over what to expect during treatment and answer any questions that you might have. If your teen is not a candidate for standard braces, we offer other options, including Invisalign clear aligners, which can be used to correct bite issues, close spaces, straighten teeth and more.

Scarlet Fever – Symptoms and DiagnosisScarlet Fever – Symptoms and Diagnosis

Scarlet fever

Scarlatina is usually spread from person to person by the coughing and sneezing of someone who has group A streptococcus bacteria in their throat. These bacteria can be spread to others by touching the face, hands, or body of a sick person with strep. The bacteria can also be spread by eating food or drinking glasses or utensils that have come in contact with the saliva of a person with strep.

Symptoms of strep throat often start 1 to 4 days after an infected person is exposed to the bacteria that cause the disease. They include a sore throat, fever (high temperature), swollen tonsils and neck glands, and a red, sandpaper-like rash called scarlet fever. Symptoms can also lead to ear and sinus infections, rheumatic fever, and heart damage.

Scarlet Fever Unveiled: Symptoms, Treatment, and Prevention Tips

A throat swab can help diagnose the illness. A rapid test shows if the bacteria are present, and the doctor can then prescribe antibiotics. A throat culture, which takes more time, can sometimes find infections that a rapid test misses.

Kids with a sore throat and rash should stay home from school until they are no longer having a fever or chills, and the rash has faded. Encourage them to get plenty of sleep and drink lots of fluids. This will help them feel better and fight the infection. Also, tell them to cover their mouth and nose when they cough or sneeze. They should also wash their hands often.

About Cardiology MRI Ultrasound

BIOMED SCAN  imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive medical test that uses radio waves to create detailed pictures of the heart and blood vessels. It is often more useful than traditional tests such as x-rays and computed tomography (CT).

During the test, you will lie down on a table that moves into the large scanner. You may be asked to hold your breath for short periods of time while the radiologist takes images. The test can be noisy and you will be provided with earplugs or headphones to block out the noise and allow you to listen to music. The radiologist will be in another room and can hear and talk to you throughout the procedure. You will be given a call button to use if you have any questions or concerns.

The Role of Cardiology Ultrasound in Early Detection of Heart Disease

The cardiologist can then review the images and provide you with a diagnosis. MRI exams are very safe. There is no radiation and you can return to your normal diet and medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

MRI is a more accurate way to diagnose vascular abnormalities such as aneurysms of the aorta and heart valve disease, and can help evaluate a variety of other cardiovascular disorders. It is especially helpful in evaluating the anatomy and function of congenital hearts, assessing blood flow through the heart and aorta, and identifying pericardial effusions (fluid around the heart). Unlike cardiac CT, MRI does not require dye injections or catheterization.
